First seventy rounds shots fired. I threw the crap single Kimber mag in the range bag as in my experience have been pure junk and I used Four Wilson Combat mags that have never failed me. Every string of fire I had malfunctions. I sent back to Kimber after speaking to a rep who told me they had a five hundred round break in period. I told him feel free to spend the five hundred round price tag on ammo and break it in for me then send it back. They put in another extractor and ejector claimed to polish the feed ramp which is a gimmick really. And they replaced a bad grip screw bushing. I got it back quick and excellent customer service. I replaced the tiny red fiber optic tube with a fatter yellow green tube and replaced the grips. I will go shoot it again and report back. If it fails again I will change out the recoil spring with a Wilson Combat flat-wire 17lb spring and see if that fixes it. If it feeds well I will say they got it right and be satisfied. I will not bad mouth Kimber. I have two others that are tack drivers and have never malfunctioned however they are older models. Hope this helps.

Handsome weapon at a good price. It did have a failure to feed issue that was rectified with some polishing by a gunsmith for $100 (thus 4 stars) 200 rounds so far and all is good. Amazingly accurate 5” pattern at 25 yards.

Started break-in today, very happy with gun, no failures on 1st 50 rounds! I was running Wilson Combat 8-rd mags. This gun is tight, and it was printing about 3″ high but centered at 25 yards, which is just where I like it – will not need to adjust the sights, which is rare. I’m glad I chose this aluminum framed version because it is about a pound less than a steel hi-cap 1911 I have. Might change the grips to walnut, but just might leave this black beauty the way it is.
