I had the opportunity to buy an NRA FDE edition P365 back in late 2019, but passed it over for a Glock 42 for some reason. I spent the next year kicking myself over that one because I couldn’t find the FDE P365 anymore, and P365s sold out within minutes of arriving at Local Stores. I told myself I would buy a P365 the next time I saw one on the shelf, so that happened to be an SAS. I had read about how several known firearms reviewers didn’t like the sights, so I was a bit hesitant about that. After putting several hundred rounds through it, and letting other shooters shoot it, the sights are actually quite intuitive and of course, totally snag-free. It’s very easy to shoot steel plates, even small plate rack plates doing speed shooting. My wife immediately was center-punching steel silhouettes in the cowboy town shooting gallery like a pro, and she had never shot it before, hasn’t shot a pistol in years. I would like it to have the takedown lever like a normal P365, but this is really a minor complaint. I also purchased a new P365XL NRA FDE Special Edition as soon as I saw one, with the 15rd mags, which is just a great pistol. In a recent pistol course I was teaching, my buddy and I compared both of our SAS’s, because his has the compensated barrel/slide with the ports. It was immediately noticeable to me how concussive that model is, versus the normal muzzle blast from the SAS I have, like the one you see above from Midway. To-date, I have run my carry hollow point load, Winchester Silver Tips, as well as various FMJ ammo without a single malfunction. My buddy hasn’t experienced any malfunctions with his either. I also haven’t experienced any malfs with the P365XL. The only complaint you will have out of the gate with the P365 magazines is trying to load them. Do yourself a favor and get the Maglula UpLULA available here at Midway: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/2136952670/ I also highly recommend the SIG P365 Air Pistol for training.

I understand Russ’ concern because I had the same issue. Just lube it a little from time to time and clean it as needed. Run 500 rounds of hardball through it and I bet it will be fine. It worked for me and it’s a beautiful gun and easy to shoot well/1

The kimber 911 like all 45’s has some Weight to it my wife does not mind shooting it but to heavy for her to carry .I carry my 45 outside as well as shoulder harness it is balance very well in the hand I like the safety on the left it provides a safe but fast reaction time. Sites are OK with minor adjustment I was able to shoot well right away I have enjoyed it from the day I held it in my head definitely one of my favorites no misfires I have shot right at 400 rounds no problems I have shot + p an target rounds with no jams or misfires
